“Absolutely incredible”Aug 3,

'We stayed in this hotel for one night to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday in the Tokyo suite. We arrived at the hotel early and found that our room wasn't quite ready. That wasn't a problem as they took our luggage from us and promised to ring us as soon as it was, so we decided to have a little wandered around. Sure enough, within 30 minutes they had telephoned me to say it was ready.
We were shown up to the Tokyo suite by the manager of the hotel and were very impressed with the room as soon as the door was opened. Japanese music was playing as we walked in, which was a really nice touch.
We were shown how all the hi-tech gadgets work and then left to our own devices.
The mood lighting was fab, as was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in!
The bathroom, with the sunken bath and Molten Brown toiletries, was fantastic.
We ate in the Paris restaurant on the evening, and, as with everything else we had experienced at the hotel, the food was absolutely lovely.
Our room only had a coffee making machine in it. When I asked the receptionist if it was possible for us to have a kettle brought to the room so that we could make a flask of coffee in the morning for our journey home (we had a 5 hour non-stop journey ahead of us the next day so needed something to keep us going), we were told that there weren't any for the guests but that we could have the one from their staff room! We did feel a bit guilty that the staff possibly would have to do without their kettle overnight but were so impressed with their willingness to make our stay as good as possible regardless.
To use the word amazing to describe this hotel and the staff doesn't seem enough. We had a great time and I feel very proud of myself for having found this little gem of a hotel to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday because we still talk about it now and will definitely stay there again.'

'But this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and I really don't want to find it booked up every time I come here.
Immaculate decor, great service from everyone and the food was great, including the raspberry daiquiri I’m embarrassed to say I’m drinking now as I write this at 11am having just missed breakfast.
What staying away should be all about, felt like a little kid finding out which room I was going to get as they're all themed.
Certainly not cheap but worth every penny.
From the LCD TV in the shower through to the TV pages open on the day for you this is great.

'My husband and I stayed at Le Monde Hotel a few weeks ago, and we loved our room, Beijing, which was small, stylish and well-priced. The Hotel sits on George Street, which means it's within walking distance of several great shops, bars and restaurants.
What really made our stay outstanding, though, was the hotel service. We were at the Edinburgh airport about to leave Edinburgh when we realized we'd left our passports in the hotel safe.
We called the hotel, and the hotel offered to send the passports to the airport in a taxi in hopes of arriving at the airport before the check-in desk closed. Luckily, we were able to use our drivers' licenses to get on our domestic flight, so instead the hotel mailed us the passports via registered mail later in the week.
We appreciated the hotel's willingness to help us solve our problem, especially because we had already checked out, so technically, we weren't guests anymore.
I can only echo what everyone else has posted to Trip Advisor about Le Monde: The hotel is great and the service is helpful and marvellous.'

'This hotel is one of the best we’ve stayed in. We visit Edinburgh on a regular basis and I look forward to booking Le Monde for our next break. The staff were very helpful and friendly, food was very good, and all aspects of the room were great. This hotel is well worth the money, cant wait to return.'

'The hotel was absolutely superb and the service was outstanding. We stayed in the Beijing room which was lovely but we also took a sneaky peek at Atlantis room which was amazing! On arrival we had a bite to eat in the bar which had a great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Location of the hotel is brill, really central and near lots of nice shops and bars. We will most definitely be staying there again, next time we may try for the Paris room!'

'This hotel was fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They really went the extra mile for us and there were loads of nice little touches. We stayed in 'Barcelona' which was decorated in a Spanish style with some Gaudi prints as well as having a selection of Spanish CDs and DVDs. When we came back from our night out, the bed had been turned down and chocolates left on our pillow. My wife loved that. We also went to the 'Shanghai' club when we came back from our original night out and took the private lift down to the club. The door staff put some of our friends on the guest list as well which was excellent. Perfect hotel for guests of our age( 26 - 35 )'

'The hotel was lovely, very clean and staff extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Location is excellent right in the centre with train station nearby and 2 large car parks. We also got access to the VIP area of the nightclub which is part of the hotel and very good. Would highly recommend it as a unique place to stay.'

"We loved the themed room (we had the Dublin) We also loved that you were given a free drink and access to the nightclub. A special touch that was the cherry on our cake! The restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived for lunch but the food was fresh, tasty and exceptionally reasonable. The staff were so polite and friendly and we were made to feel really welcome from the moment we arrived until we departed. We will go back the next time we are in Edinburgh"

"Le Monde is bang in the heart of the city on George Street and is easy to find. The hotel is small and well run. The rooms are beautiful, reasonably large and full of gadgets: plasma TV(lounge area),LCD TV (above bed), a small waterproof TV in the bathroom, DVD/CD player etc etc . You won't want to leave the hotel. However you should go out and see what Edinburgh is really about. Fantastic hotel in a fantastic city. Oh and the food is good ; lots of comfort food and good value drinks. (Laurent Perrier Rose £60). The bars and restaurant are all funky too!"

"Fabulous Hotel!"

"First, the location. Right behind Princes St, so central, 2 minute walk from the train station. I stayed in Barcelona which is a cheaper 'standard' room. It felt like a superior. Spanish themed CDs and DVD, Gaudi style mirror, flat screen TV, large turret windows, great Molton Brown toiletries and white bathrobes. Staff were very helpful and room service dinner first class. I will be back!"

"2nd to None!"

Having stayed in quite a few hotels in Edinburgh recently, I was really taken aback by the quality of the rooms and the overall stay.

The food was great, we ordered room service for breakfast and it was there within 15 minutes hot and fresh. The rooms were spotless and the mini bars well stocked and well priced.

What really made our stay was the way that every member of staff in the hotel, bars and club, seemed to take time to speak to everyone, no matter how busy it seemed to be.

This above the decor will make us return to Le Monde, as it really was genuine service at it's best that won has one us over.

Rachael Jenkins, Events Manager
at Channel Five

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you from the Five press office to the wonderful staff at Le Monde Hotel during our stay at this year’s Edinburgh TV Festival. While a stay in this hotel truly stands out as being one of the most outstanding and unique experiences we have ever had, it was the helpfulness, attentiveness and sheer professionalism of the staff at Le Monde that made our stay at the hotel so memorable and exceptional. A truly ‘out of this world’ experience, I would not hesitate in recommending Le Monde to anyone looking to host an event or stay in one of the country’s most exclusive hotels”

Tim Basnett

“May I just say how much we all enjoyed our stay for the New Year at the splendid Le Monde. All the staff at Le Monde were most helpful and efficient both in all the bars and the hotel. Certainly a place that we would highly recommend to family and friends. Mr Billy Lowe has a place of high note and long may it continue. First class”

Morag McFarlane

“Just to say what a fabulous night we had last night at Le Monde Cocktail Masterclass. We enjoyed the whole night and - the guys shaking their stuff (well the cocktail shakers) - we were in an all girl group and they all did well in looking after us, and made cocktail making look so easy!!!! They were so encouraging and wanted us to be involved. The night was real value for money - here's to more of them!!!! My friend had a great time too and said it was one of the best birthday pressies ever! I will certainly be trying my hand at making cocktails at home - roll on the barbie weather so I can impress my friends with what I have learned! Well done in organising the event! Here's to the next time.”
